What is ChildNet?
ChildNet training is designed to help child care providers move beyond the minimum state requirements and provide "Best Practice" child care. The ChildNet training series is a 10 week, 25 hour course that offers training in professionalism, creative learning spaces, activities for early learning, growth and development, guidance, health, nutrition, diversity and business practices.

Becoming a ChildNet Certified Provider involves an in-home evaluation, completing all 10 ChildNet modules, maintaining state Registration, and participation in the Child and Adult Care Food Program. Becoming certified means the provider has achieved a higher level of recognized quality care and professionalism.

Do you offer part time care?
Yes. Anything three days or less is considered part time. Please visit the "fees" page for more information on pricing.

Do you offer drop-in care?
Yes, considering there is space on the specific day for your child to attend. Full time children will get priority for space. A contract must be signed, and all paperwork must be filled out and submitted prior to your child "dropping in".
Are you a participant in the Quality Rating System?
Oh yes. Currently, I am at a level two. When I receive my CDA credential, I plan on applying for and acheiving level three. That will be some time next year.
Do you accept State Assistance?
Yes. Before your child can attend, I must recieve a Notice of Decision from the State claiming me as provider. If you need care before I recieve the NOD, you can pay for childcare, and I will reimburse you all costs (less your co-pay) when I recieve payment from the state.

Where can I find information on State Assistance?
You can find information, including forms and contact information at the Iowa DHS website:

Iowa Department of Human Services

Do you transport children to school?
No. At this time, I do not transport children to school.

Do you offer meals and snacks?
Yes. My child care is a participant in the state food program, which ensures all meals served to children are healthy and well balanced. Please see our "Meals" page for the current schedule of meals for the children.

Do you do preschool?
While I am not a "preschool" institution, I do believe that the same principles and subjects taught at those institutions can easily be learned in a home setting. I incorporate early learning into our every day routines. We learn basic skills, colors, shapes, counting, language and many more topics throughout our day just through play, rhymes and having fun.

Language is a very big part of my program, and we experience language through many different forms- print, books, songs, storytelling, conversations and more.

If a child seems interested in a particular topic, I will take the time to explore activities, books and projects that can inspire the child to learn more, and explore what they are interested in.

I also offer the children a teacher directed curriculum called Funshine Express. It incorporates many of the preschool-type learning that will help the children become ready for kindergarten.

You can find more on the curriculum at their website:
